Can I buy a house with cryptocurrencies?

In 2022, Zome executed the first public deed involving cryptoassets in Europe and launched Cryptohouses.pt —the first real estate portal for purchasing homes with crypto. 

The Cryptohouses.pt portal operates according to the following procedures:

• Buy Directly in Crypto: Here you can view the properties available for exchange with virtual assets, along with their transaction values converted into various cryptocurrencies. Select the properties you’d like to learn more about and/or visit. You must enter the numeric codes that follow the ZMPT identification;
• You should provide the numeric codes for the properties you’re interested in to the Contact Center, which will then contact you via email or phone;
• You will be referred to our Crypto Transactions Department, which will explain all the steps involved in the process of exchanging a home for cryptocurrency, as well as answer any other questions you may have;
• Next, the real estate consultant will explain all the necessary details about the property and arrange a viewing, during which they will accompany you;
• Once you’ve decided on the property you wish to purchase, the property reservation will formalize the terms of the transaction on a specific form. The crypto transaction manager will oversee the entire legal and procedural process of this transaction;
• Through our legal partner, all legal compliance requirements regarding the source of funds will be ensured in accordance with current legal requirements;
• Pledge of Exchange Agreement or Deed: You may choose to enter into a Pledge of Exchange Agreement if you wish to have a specific timeframe for executing the deed of exchange, or you may execute the deed immediately.
